The Showroom Manager is to supervise, assist, train and direct the day-to-day activities of the sales staff.  Must possess knowledge of marketing strategies and planning.  Must be able to apply logical thinking to a wide range of problems, collect data, draw conclusions and offer constructive opinions concerning day-to-day activities. Responsible for closing profitable event revenue, ensuring communication of sales and customer needs with the distribution part of the organization and establish a team atmosphere in the office that promotes excellent customer service. 


  • Meet or exceed rental revenue goals by utilizing CORT’s online learning programs, classroom based seminars, and other industry training opportunities.
  • Responsible for opening and closing procedures of the showroom and sales office.
  • Train and develop all sales staff in showroom procedures, sales skills, and customer service.
  • Trains sales staff on the use of computers, office equipment and all counter procedures.
  • Assists sales staff when complaints and emergencies arise by investigating and providing a resolution.
  • Review rental contracts for accuracy and provide training as needed.
  • Investigate all occurrences of overbookings to utilize district inventory effectively to minimize shortages and change orders.
  • Provide an outstanding showroom experience for our clients with daily attention given to the appearance of showroom and work area.
  • Follow necessary processes and policies diligently to ensure timely communication and accuracy between departments and customer.
  • Set showroom schedule and approve hours with attention to forecasted budget.
  • Supports overflow from sales staff.
  • Fill in for other positions, when necessary, for smooth operation of the business.
  • Network with other industry professionals.
  • Recommend new purchases based on customer feedback to Purchasing Department.
  • Recommend new marketing pieces and advertising opportunities to Marketing Department.
  • Maintain exceptional relationships with customers to encourage additional revenue opportunities.
  • Follow up with customers to thank them for their business and solicit feedback.
  • Support all district sales and marketing efforts, including CORT Furniture Rental, CORT Event Furnishings and CORT Clearance Center business.
  • Coordinate efforts with outside sales representatives for sales and marketing opportunities.
  • Complete required Sales Productivity Reports and review with Director of Sales.
  • Acquire and update product knowledge of all CORT’s products and services.
  • Follow company and District procedures to protect store security and company assets.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent of 5+ years of sales and management experience in the events industry.
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend business level correspondence and memos in English.
  • Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization in English.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will need to function in a fast-paced environment and asked to handle multiple tasks at once.
  • This position requires working on some Saturdays and occasional evening hours.
